About me

My name is Alistair. I am a Journalism and Public Relations graduate and I have just completed my masters in Marketing at the University of Lincoln. I have just started an internship role within the Communications, Development and Marketing department at the University of Lincoln as CDM intern. I am interested in PR, marketing, design, social media, photography and technology.

I developed this site to act as a digital portfolio, blog and CV for anyone who is interested in my work. Unless otherwise stated, all the content and media on the site have been created by me.

Organisation and Logistics

I have project managed a variety of complex projects for clients involving resource management, travel arrangements and interviews among other things. Planning and organisation come naturally to me and as such I cope well with complex plans.

Social Media

I am a self confessed social media addict and I am constantly seeking out new and upcoming social media platforms. I have a good grasp of all major social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and Reddit.

Content Production

During my time at university and with Cygnet PR I have worked with many teams to produce digital content including videos, posters, blog posts, social media posts and more with specific audiences and purposes in mind.

I have recently completed my masters degree in Marketing at the University of Lincoln. I have also been lucky enough to volunteer within the marketing function of Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and I am currently undertaking an internship in the marketing office of the University of Lincoln.

I really enjoy writing and both of my degree programmes have given me the opportunity to write for a wide range of audiences and purposes. I also blog both here on my site as well as for other websites including Campus Society and Student Life.

Public Relations

I have just completed a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Lincoln. During this time I have been lucky enough to work with several real clients through Cygnet PR and develop the practical skills along with the theory taught throughout the degree.

Diss is hard

It shouldn’t be hard. It’s just four normal sized essays bundled together into one. Something about being told I have to write ten thousand words just seems to cause my vocabulary and grasp of the English language to evade me. I keep trying to break it down into smaller chunks. “I only have to write […]

I was lucky enough to be able to attend my first graduate conference since being at Lincoln. I have always wanted to attend but they have previously always fallen on dates where I had prior commitments, but I’ve finally made it in my final year! I was especially interested to hear from those who are […]
